彰化縣彰化市八卦山麓泰京四麵佛寺的天花闆及洞穴內，兩年來聚集數百隻台灣葉鼻蝠棲息（圖），因蝙蝠喜歡吃昆蟲或害蟲，意外讓小黑蚊肆虐獲得大幅改善。

佛寺主委林逢永說，蝙蝠一嚮被稱為是吉祥動物，「福地福人居」。特有保育中心研究員兼動物組長鄭錫奇說，一隻台灣葉鼻蝠體型大，一天可以吃掉一韆隻蚊蟲，意外讓當地小黑蚊肆虐情形改善許多。文˙圖╱葉濬明

◎學名：Hipposideros terasensis◎特徵：體長10cm、體重48.9~64g、尾長6cm，鼻部特化為葉狀。◎習性：棲息洞穴時具個體距離，聚集時數量達上百隻、甚至上韆隻，喜歡吃鞘翅目等大型昆蟲。資料來源：台灣蝙蝠學會
