【蔡智銘╱台中報導】去年八月來台治療的柬埔寨「象臂女孩」瑞君妮，原本右手臂是大腿的兩倍粗，在台中榮總的治療下，右手臂從原本三十點五公分縮小到二十二公分。昨天是瑞君妮三歲生日，榮總醫護人員特彆為她慶生，瑞君妮還高舉雙手說「萬歲」，後天她將和母親搭機返迴柬埔寨。中華民國牙醫公會去年到柬埔寨義診，發現瑞君妮不幸的身世，由台中榮總伸援，安排她來台治療，經醫療團隊的診斷，確定是罹患先天性靜脈畸型肥大癥候群（Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome），導緻血管病變，靜脈與淋巴係統異常。
終身要戴壓力袖套
台中榮總小兒血液科主任張德高說，為保留瑞君妮右臂的功能，決定採內科治療，替她戴壓力綳帶、服藥，成功讓肥大的右手臂縮小，但該病為先天疾病，復發率是百分之百，須終身戴彈性壓力袖、手指套及服用阿斯匹靈控製病情。協助瑞君妮來台治療的惠康醫療救濟基金會執行長莊李和說，總醫療費約六十萬，全部由惠康基金會支付。
